Holidays, or Holy Days????

What are really holidays these days??? All have come down to shopping and showing off the best of u closet. But is it really all about that???? I grew in a family where religion was resumed into going to church on Saturdays night, and, even we weren't as devoted as we were supposed to, one thing my mother made sure was for us to understand that Holidays are Holy Days, days that u have to give the true meaning of why they were being celebrated, specially if they are related to God. I went to the crucifixion recreation, I was even part of the cast at some point!! I was one of those kids that believed in Santa Claus and the three kings, tooth fairy, I used to put cookies and milk and some grass for the king's animal waiting for a Barbie that never came (I wasn't so bad of a kid, I promise, but I guess the did not have enough money to give all the wishes to every kid, ;), I threw my recent pulled teeth to the ceiling and ask for a new one back TO A MOUSE. I believed in all that and it was a very happy childhood, but, now that I have a daughter that probably will know how to use a computer by 4 or 6, who knows, and will know that all that is no true faster than I would wish, how can I make her childhood as naive as mine, so that she doesn't grow to fast on us??? I already started by reading her about baby Jesus and how he came to this word to save us. Is a step out of so many I hope to give to accomplish what a want, and that is the happiest childhood for my daughter. I just pray to God to guide us every step of the way and to teach her, out of our own personal experiences, the best. So yes, I celebrate Holy Days together with Holidays (I like to look good ;)... Happy belated Thanksgiving, Merry Christmas and Happy New year!!!!!!!!!!
