Baby essentials!!
When I was planning my baby shower I had the tedious task of choosing what I wanted for my baby and ended up with things I don't really needed. Here a practical list of things I found very essential when making a baby shower gifts list
- Crib, the mattress and sheets for it, I don't recommend to list a bassinet since baby barely use it (three months max if baby is born regular size and weight witch is about 7 lbs).
- Changing table, very practical since u have everything u need close without the need of letting baby alone. I recommend to have clothes ready on top of it after shower to make it easy and quick.
- Bathtub. Now they make it with a seat inside, very practical to keep baby in place. Also in this area shampoo and soap, do not ask or buy separate, is easier to just soap the baby head to toe without changing bottle, and when asking for shampoo, lotion I found Aveeno baby line better than Johnson.
- Towels, at least three.
- Clothes, try to avoid newborn, unless u baby is premature, babies grow very fast and newborn clothes are useful only a week or two. Make sure u get night gowns, short sleeve and long sleeves bodysuits, socks, hats and gloves for first weeks.
- Of course diapers, cream and wipes, trash can and diaper bag. Don't go crazy on cream, pure white petroleum jelly will do it and a regular trash can too (Got the genie elite and it broke). Diaper u will have to explore yourself to find the brand u like best, so far I tried Pampers and Huggies liking pampers better, a bit more expensive but worthy 4 me. With the wipes I only tried Pampers and still use it. I do not recommend fabric diapers unless u are very ecology forward and don't get me wrong is just that cleaning pup and pee all day is enough, imagine having to wash it.
- Some furniture 4 the nursery beside the crib, like a dresser and closet to keep everything neat and organized.
- Other things like a car seat and stroller. I cant live without those. I use a City Mini Jogger that closes very easy and a Graco car seat.
- Some toys, teething ones are best 4 my lil one now since they are starting to come out.
- Grooming kit that includes nail clipper, filer, thermometer, that thing to clean the nose, brush and comb.
- Camera, even if u apartment is small like mine. I'm in d kitchen and I can see what's happening in baby's room.
- Don't go crazy on shoes either, now they sell socks that look like shoes, more practical and less expensive taking in consideration that they loose the shoes very easily.
- Feeding utensils like Avant, Dr. brown or tommee tippe bottles, soft tip spoons and one or two bowls to begin. Do not buy stem sterilizer, I don't find that sterilize as good as soaking the utensils in boiling water for a couple of minutes. Breast pump is a must if u pretend to breast feed and work, Medela is d best!!
- Play yard u can use as a bed if u need to travel with baby, bouncer, eating chair, lots of bibs, burp and wash cloths.
There might be other things u'll need fro sure but right now these things are the ones coming in mind. Remember to ask for the most expensive things on the baby shower to help u pocket ;)
Also remember that cash, cks and gift cards are very useful if someone don't know what to give, u may end up opening a bank account 4 u lil one.
Here some pics of my baby's gifts, just some!!! remeber to like, share, comment.

Choosing a Doctor 4 u lil 1.
We got lucky, we love our pediatrician. Not knowing what to look forward when choosing a pediatrician we asked my Obgyn to assign one for our baby since she's been delivering babies for so many years and helping mothers to get the best for both, baby and mother.
I can say our pediatrician is very attentive, he asks lots of questions just to make sure we are doing fine and answer with patient all the questions new parents, like us, have. From a rash, to breast feeding, to blood in stool, to a mosquito bite, you name it I asked and keep asking every time I have a chance and he takes his time to answer without judging and give us guidance on what to improve or not to do.
These are questions u should get an answer before delivery:
Don't let luck choose for u like we did, is always good to look around, ask doctors, friends and families with kids, they can always give some good opinions based on their experience.
Please comment, share.

These are questions u should get an answer before delivery:
- When should I begin my search for a doctor?
- What kind of practitioner should I look for?
- Where can I get names of doctors to consider?
- How will I know if a doctor recommended by someone else will be suitable for us?
- I have some promising candidates. Now what should I do?
- How do I interview a doctor?
- How will my child's doctor know I've delivered my baby?
- What should I do if I'm not entirely happy with the doctor I choose?

Transitioning... when is OK 4 baby to sleep by herself.
I had my baby through a C-Section due to past medical history, and since my bed is really high we opted by letting baby sleep with me because, as all newborn, they wake up every one or two hours, I was breast feeding and was very ill to be going up and down bed). since then I got used to see my baby next to me. But now I feel mix emotions since time has come to let baby sleep by herself and getting her into a real routine. Lots of people, as usual, are telling me that i'll regret the decision of letting her sleep with me, that my baby will not get use to sleep in the crib, that I should lower the times I breast feed her at night so that she doesn't wake up so much, and so on. I know, is annoying having to hear everybody's opinion, but what are u going to do, right??
Trying to answer my question on when is OK 4 u baby to sleep alone I found this article on how to get u baby to sleep through the night that tells u a bunch of things that are true, but may not apply to u and u baby. What I found out this last couple of nights is that babies are different, they're human and we all are different. U have to find u own path, let days pass and try different things to find the right way to make this transition easy.
With me???? I'm the one suffering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My baby still wakes up twice at night to breast feed, no matter where she sleeps, and I'm the one awake missing her next to me.
There is no answers but behaviors to watch, signs to catch and make the best of it. At the end everybody get through it, some people and babies make take longer to take that step, to make that routing, but it will happen.
